During the meeting, Macut and Adjal exchanged the two countries’ experiences in the field of energy production from renewable sources, as well as biomass.
Adjal pointed to Algeria’s interest in training and expertise in Serbia regarding the construction and use of wind farms, as well as the utilisation of hydropower potential for green energy production.
The interlocutors also considered the possibilities of joint investment in green energy production projects.
The Prime Minister of Serbia also spoke with Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade about strengthening cooperation in that area across five specific fields, in order to reach the level of the two countries’ political relations.
Concrete steps were defined, such as the establishment of a business council, the organisation of an economic forum, and the consideration of possibilities for signing a preferential trade agreement as a first step towards a free trade agreement.
At the same time, they discussed organising promotions of Serbian products in Algeria and vice versa, as well as establishing joint ventures that would have access to a market of nearly two billion people.
Macut and Rezig agreed that, in the coming period, together with Serbia’s Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade, and under the supervision of the Prime Ministers of the two countries, the implementation of the agreed steps would begin.
