Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, chaired today a session of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Growth, at which macroeconomic and other key challenges were considered, with a review of current economic indicators and further priorities of economic policy.

It was noted at the session that Serbia continues to record stable macroeconomic results, and that year-on-year inflation in March stood at 2.8%, confirming maintained price stability within the target band.
The average net salary in January reached €1,009, with real growth of 7.6% year-on-year, while positive trends are also visible in other sectors – tourism recorded a 12.1% increase in overnight stays, while manufacturing rose by 1.2% compared to the same period last year.
It was emphasised at the session that particular attention has been devoted to addressing challenges in the transport sector, in order to improve the efficiency of logistics and supply chains and reduce operating costs for export-oriented businesses.
In the coming period, the main focus will remain on further improving citizens’ living standards, strengthening the industrial base and accelerating investment, while preserving macroeconomic stability.
