The Ministry of Defence stated that an infantry company from the Third Army Brigade, which was assigned to engage in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon, has successfully passed the training and interoperability check.
The check of the unit for the implementation of peacekeeping tasks, in accordance with the mandate of the aforementioned mission, as part of the Spanish battalion of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, was carried out this week at the Jug base and at the Borovac training ground by a team of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, during the Serbian Shield 27 exercise.
The multi-day training activities are organised according to the tasks that await the company members in the operation zone, and include the implementation of patrols, observation and reporting on events, establishment of a permanent checkpoint, control of mass gatherings, and securing the base.
