Serbia committed to enhancing cooperation with United States in numerous areas

Belgrade, 26 March 2026

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić attended last night a formal reception and jazz concert at the Kolarac Endowment, held in honour of the launch of the Freedom 250 programme, in the year in which the United States marks 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Addressing the gathering, organised by the US Embassy in Belgrade, Đurić recalled that the two countries were on the same side in both world wars and that diplomatic relations were established in 1881.

The Minister expressed confidence that today and in the future, Serbia and the United States have many reasons to work together, noting that representatives of Serbia had on several occasions over the past year been hosted by representatives of the US President’s administration.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has instructed us to work intensively on advancing cooperation in all areas, and I am confident that significant results lie ahead, Đurić said.

He expressed satisfaction that Serbia had the opportunity to host this cultural event, as well as hope that there would be many more such events in the future, as Belgrade aims to host numerous prominent artists.

In the future, we will also work to bring an NBA team to Belgrade, which I believe will be extremely well received, the head of Serbian diplomacy stated.
