According to the statement, representatives of the ministries of the two countries will exchange experience and knowledge in the areas of regulating issues of environmental protection through legislation, functioning of the Environmental Protection Fund and offering support for training local staff communicating with EU institutions, mainly for accessing European funds and integrating the financing of developmental and project cooperation.
Cooperation between Serbia and the Czech Republic in the area of environmental protection is developing successfully and is marked by constant growth. Eight projects in environmental protection are currently being realised which are financed by the Czech fund for developmental aid, of which the projects in Kragujevac (waste disposal) and Valjevo (drinking water) are considered to be the most successful.
Similarly the Czech Republic has expressed willingness to share its experience and know-how through various forms of cooperation and assistance in the areas of using EU developmental funds, harmonisation of regulations with the EU, and financial mechanisms for implementing specific projects, reads the statement.
