The Serbian Ministry of Finance stated that the incomes of professional soldiers and civil persons employed in the defence system will be increased by 20% as of September 1 this year, owing to a recent budget revision and the reduction of the number of employees in the process of reform of the defence system.
The statement reads that the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Finance reached an agreement that the same 20% increase be applied to army pensioners, since the provisions of the Law on the army stipulate that army pensions should follow the changes in salaries of professional soldiers.
The last time when army employees and pensioners received an increase in their incomes was one year ago, reads the statement.
