Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic and Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov today met with German Minister of Economy and Technology Michael Glos in Berlin to discuss the intensification of cooperation in the energy sector.
Intensifying energy cooperation would result in a more secure and durable supply of Serbia with energy sources as well as further stabilisation of economic and political development of Serbia and the whole region, the ministers agreed.
Both sides have great potential that needs to be used to the benefit of all, according to a statement.
At the same time, Serbia’s membership in the South East Europe Energy Community offers an opportunity for improving and supporting EU integration of the Serbian energy sector.
The officials also agreed that the two countries’ energy companies need to cooperate more closely and noted that focus should be on the introduction of modern, efficient and environmentally safe technologies.
Participants of the meeting said that the German-Serbian Business Council and its energy task force should focus more on energy cooperation and implementation of joint projects.
