Minister of Sport Zoran Gajić and Deputy Minister of Sport of Greece Ioannis Vroutsis signed today in Athens the first memorandum of cooperation between Serbia and Greece in the field of sport, confirming their mutual commitment to further improving partnership relations in the field of sport.

The signed document covers several areas of importance for the development of sport, including the exchange of knowledge and experience, sport education, sport medicine, the protection of youth in sport, the improvement of the position and participation of women in sport, as well as the development of sport infrastructure and sport tourism.
At the same time, the Memorandum also envisages strengthening ties between the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees of Serbia and Greece, as well as closer cooperation between the competent institutions and sport organisations of the two countries.
Gajić and Vroutsis particularly noted that Serbia and Greece are connected by traditionally close and brotherly relations, based on mutual understanding and support, stressing that the signing of this document represents an important step in further deepening relations in the field of sport.
During his official visit to Greece, Gajić also attended the opening ceremony of the international fair FOOD EXPO 2026 in Athens, in which Serbia participates with the support of the Embassy of Serbia to Greece.
