Agriculture ministry prepares avian influenza control, prevention and eradication programme

The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management said that it has prepared a control, prevention and eradication programme for avian influenza that the government should adopt in a few days.
The programme, that is currently being harmonised with other ministries involved in its drafting, includes all activities and procedures that the Ministry so far applied when addressing avian flu.
The programme defines the chain of decision-making and authorizations of state bodies involved in its realisation.
The programme created by the Ministry is in accordance with internationally recognised standards and EU regulations.
The Ministry also made a book of instructions and guide book for acting in cases of avian influenza, the statement said.
