Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Demo Beriša discussed today with Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Serbia Soufiane Adjali important issues in the field of human rights and the improvement of the position of refugees, members of the Roma national minority and other vulnerable groups.

During the meeting, the importance of continued cooperation between the relevant ministry and UNHCR was emphasised in addressing issues of common interest, especially migration management and refugee protection.
Adjali praised the work of the relevant Serbian institutions to date, emphasising that the country has been a safe haven for more than 100,000 refugees in the previous period.
The interlocutors noted that social dialogue is a key mechanism for overcoming challenges and building a society based on equal rights and opportunities for all.
