Minister of Environmental Protection Sara Pavkov stated today that our country has been selected to host World Environment Day 2027, within the framework of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Pavkov stressed that this decision is the result of the strategy implemented by the highest state leadership – President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, who have been committed to strengthening Serbia’s international position since the beginning of their mandates.
Serbia not only protects nature, but also leads the global dialogue on sustainable development. This prestigious event, which will be coordinated with Expo 2027 in Belgrade, places Serbia on the map of global leaders, she pointed out.
It is expected that Serbia will be the center of global leaders in June 2027, where visions and solutions for the future will be exchanged. This is confirmation that Serbia, as part of global politics, has a clear direction towards sustainable development and international cooperation.
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June, and on this occasion our country will present changes towards a sustainable future.
