Speaking at the High-Level Segment of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on national human rights priorities, Jovanović emphasised that Serbia continues to improve the institutional and legislative framework in the field of human rights, as well as mechanisms for protection against discrimination.
As she noted, particular attention is paid to protecting the rights of vulnerable social groups, including children, women, persons with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced persons and members of national minorities.
She also addressed the situation of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, pointing to flagrant violations of basic human rights, including security, freedom of movement, access to social protection institutions, as well as the threat to property rights.
