Minister of Education Professor Dejan Vuk Stanković, PhD, attended today the signing of the agreement on donations from the Government of Japan, which provides financial support for the economic and social development of Serbia.
Ambassador of Japan Naohiro Tsutsumi signed the agreement on donations for the POPOS – Kusanone projects in the Republic of Serbia for the Primary School Jozef Marčok Dragutin in Bački Petrovac, the General Hospital in Pirot, the Health Centre Danica and Kosta Šamanović in Knić, as well as for the Public Utility Company Raška in Raška.
Stanković expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador, the Government of Japan and the Japanese people for their support for projects in the field of education.
The Minister stated that Japan, as a friendly country, has always known how to recognise Serbia’s needs in various areas, adding that contracts for four donations in the education, healthcare and utility services sectors were signed today.
Stanković pointed out that, in addition to infrastructure projects financed by the state, such donations are also important for the education system, as they provide additional support to Serbia’s educational institutions.
In this way, working conditions in many schools and kindergartens have been improved so far, as have the conditions for work and learning in educational institutions, the Minister emphasised.
