Minister for Family Care and Demography Jelena Žarić Kovačević spoke today, on the sidelines of the Pro Family Summit in Budapest, with Minister of Family and Social Services of Türkiye Mahinur Özdemir Goktaş about improving cooperation in the areas of family and population policy, child protection and demography.

Special emphasis, as she stated, was placed on the new approach to demographic changes, which Serbia is implementing by focusing on the development of human capital, primarily in medium-sized cities.
Žarić Kovačević emphasised Serbia’s readiness to learn more about Türkiye’s experiences in implementing family policies, which have yielded the greatest results.
Goktaş pointed out Türkiye’s willingness to share experiences in implementing population policy measures, assessing that the two countries share a common position regarding traditional family values and norms, and that by working together they can strengthen family cohesion, which is important for both societies.
