Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić met today with Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Serbia Luca Gori to discuss Serbia’s European integration process and reforms in the field of justice.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the results achieved so far in implementing reform activities within the framework of the negotiation process with the European Union, with a particular focus on Chapter 23, which relates to the judiciary and fundamental human rights.
The topic of the conversation was strengthening the activities and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against organised crime, corruption and improving legal certainty.
Vujić emphasised that full membership in the European Union is a strategic goal of the Republic of Serbia, and that the Ministry of Justice remains committed to further improving the legislative framework, the efficiency of judicial proceedings and strengthening the rule of law.
The Minister of Justice stressed the importance of continued support from partner countries in implementing reforms.
Ambassador Gori confirmed Italy’s readiness to continue supporting Serbia on its European path, emphasising the importance of regional stability, reforms and alignment with European standards.
The interlocutors agreed that continued constructive dialogue and cooperation are crucial for Serbia’s progress in the European integration process, according to a statement from the Ministry of Justice.
