Commitment to development of educational cooperation with Malawi

Belgrade, 20 February 2026

Minister of Education Professor Dejan Vuk Stanković, PhD, today spoke with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Malawi George Tapatula Chaponda about establishing and improving educational cooperation between the two countries.

Stanković confirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Education to develop and improve cooperation in the field of education between Serbia and Malawi.

He stressed that there is a mutual interest in signing this memorandum in the coming period, in order to create formal and legal frameworks for the development of institutional cooperation, exchange of experiences and good practices, improve the mobility of pupils, students and teaching staff, as well as encourage joint projects and programmes of common interest.

Stanković and Chaponda reached an agreement to increase the number of scholarships within the “World in Serbia” project for students from the Republic of Malawi.
