Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Demo Beriša spoke today with Ambassador of Romania to Serbia Silvia Davidoiu about improving bilateral relations, with a special focus on the Intergovernmental Mixed Commission for Cooperation between the two countries.

Beriša pointed out that this commission is of particular importance, because through the institutional framework it enables issues of importance to our citizens to be resolved systematically, in the spirit of partnership and dialogue.
Our goal is to continue to strengthen the position of national minorities, as well as the overall relations between the two countries, through open cooperation, for the benefit of regional stability and mutual trust, the Minister emphasised.
The interlocutors discussed issues of importance for the position of the Romanian national minority in Serbia, as well as the Serbian community in Romania, noting that the friendly relations between the two countries represent a good basis for further deepening cooperation, especially in areas of common interest.
