The interlocutors paid special attention to the development of personalised mRNA cancer vaccines, the application of which has already begun, while the results are currently being analysed.
Popović underlined that patients from Serbia, together with patients from Russia, will be among the first to receive the cancer vaccine.
The Minister said that work on the cooperation agreement has already begun and it is expected that the first patients from Serbia will receive the therapy by the end of this year.
This is an extremely demanding and technologically complex process, given that a personalized mRNA vaccine is made for each patient individually, he explained and added that the vaccine activates the immune system to recognise and destroy cancer cells.
