Kozarev informed his interlocutors about the situation and difficult position of Serbs under pressure from the Kurti regime in the southern Serbian province and emphasised that, although we do not share the same position on the status of Kosovo and Metohija, the two sides are connected by a common history of suffering and traditionally close relations between the two peoples.
Amrani voiced gratitude for the solidarity and support expressed by Serbia after the events of 7 October 2023.
Both sides expressed readiness to further enhance cooperation, especially in the areas of the economy, defence, artificial intelligence, education, technology, innovation and culture, with an emphasis on preserving the memory of the Holocaust, as well as on raising the political dialogue to a strategic level and intensifying contacts and visits at high and highest levels.
It was assessed that the conclusion of a free trade agreement between Serbia and Israel would give additional impetus to the already successful business relations.
The Secretary General discussed with Rogel the possibilities of cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the ministries of the two countries, as well as the joint professional development of future diplomats.
Kozarev particularly expressed his gratitude for the confirmation of Israel's participation in the specialised exhibition Expo 2027, stating his belief that their presence will significantly contribute to the success of this event, hosted by Belgrade.
