Minister without portfolio in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations with the diaspora Đorđe Milićević opened the ceremonial Saint Sava Academy in Budapest, Hungary.
On that occasion, Milićević emphasised that we are gathering around the same values established by Saint Sava, assessing that today, in modern society, Saint Sava’s legacy is needed as a secure and stable guidepost for the future.
Saint Sava is not only the foundation of our church and our state, but also an enduring message of peace, dialogue, knowledge and understanding among peoples, the Minister said, adding that it is precisely these values that connect the Republic of Serbia and Hungary.
According to him, through the spirit of Saint Sava’s legacy, we have managed to overcome many challenges in the past and, on the foundations of peace, build everything of which we are proud today.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Hungarian friends who respect Serbia and do their utmost to understand and preserve the national identity of all Serbs in Hungary.
