Belgrade, Sept 21, 2006 –Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica congratulated the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids on the occasion of its patron saint feast Day of Nativity of the Virgin Mary by saying that the Institute has many reasons to be proud of what has been done in the past year.
Kostunica said that the Institute has built “a magnificent respect worthy building” made of school books, capital works and other books.
The Prime Minister noted that the books are mostly in Serbian, but also in languages of national minorities. He recalled that the Institute published 500 Serbian books and over 200 titles in languages of national minorities last year.
He also said that the Institute published collected works of Stojan Novakovic, Nikola Tesla and Branko Lazarevic.
The Prime Minister commended the Institute for its monograph on the Drina River and the upcoming monograph on the Morava River and also praised this institution for its humanitarian work.
There are many institutions, churches, monasteries, primarily those located in Kosovo-Metohija, that the Institute helped, Kostunica said.
