Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić began his visit to Thessaloniki today by paying his respects and laying wreaths at the mausoleum at the Serbian Military Cemetery Zeitenlik and the eternal home of Đorđe Mihailović, the long-time caretaker of the cemetery.

Đurić stated that in the times we live in, we can find the strongest support in the values of our grandfathers, great-grandfathers and forefathers who gave up their youth, their loves, dreams and lives, sacrificing themselves in their twenties, thirties, sometimes even earlier, so that we could have our homeland in which we cherish our language, culture, faith and our values.
He recalled that Zeitenlik is the largest individual ossuary in Europe, where 5,580 Serbian heroes are laid to rest in the crypt, while another 1,400 of our glorious soldiers are buried in individual tombs at the Serbian Military Cemetery.
