Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić stated today that, at the second meeting of the Balkan Peace Platform in Istanbul, concrete plans were discussed regarding the improvement of transport connectivity, the strengthening of cooperation in education and science and issues related to European integration.

Following his participation in the meeting, Đurić emphasised that this format represents an authentic Balkan project, whose added value lies precisely in the fact that it is not organised in EU Member States by an external, non-Balkan actor.
The Minister conveyed that he had discussed with the head of Turkish diplomacy, Hakan Fidan, ways for the two countries to contribute to stabilising and preserving the situation in the region, adding that he paid particular attention to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and explicitly pointed to the need to protect the basic human rights of our people.
