Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski announced today that this year, for the first time, a comprehensive reconstruction of the memorial complex at the Blue Tomb, on the island of Vido in Greece, will be carried out.

At the session of the Committee for the Cultivation of the Traditions of the Liberation Wars of Serbia, Đurđević Stamenkovski also noted that the reconstruction of the memorials at Kajmakčalan in North Macedonia and at Zeitenlik in Greece is also planned, emphasising that this will show the attitude towards our ancestors, not only of the state but also of new generations.
According to her, 2026 is a year of continuity in our relationship with the past, history, and monuments, as each monument testifies to why our state is important to us and how dearly freedom has been paid.
