The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today expressed its deep regret over the tragic death of Serbian national Stefan Ivanović, who lost his life in a heroic act of saving people during a devastating fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland.
The statement emphasises that his courage and selflessness will remain permanently remembered as an example of true humanity.
Respect is also paid to the expressed solidarity of citizens and organisations, as well as their desire to assist the family of the young man who tragically lost his life.
At the same time, it is recalled that the Government of Serbia, through the relevant institutions, had previously expressed its readiness and offered full assistance with regard to organising the transport of the mortal remains to the homeland.
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Switzerland remains in constant and direct contact with the family of the late Stefan Ivanović, providing all available support in these exceptionally difficult moments, the statement adds.
