Prime Minister Macut expressed satisfaction with the continuation of the direct dialogue with higher education institutions, stating that this is the only way in which all doubts and challenges can be resolved.
One of the topics of the meeting was the financial functioning of these institutions, since the implementation of the System for Preparation, Execution, Accounting and Reporting (SPIRI) begins on 1 January.
Prime Minister Macut pointed out that the aim of this system is to simplify the way of working and improve the efficiency of managing the public finance system.
He recalled that this system was supposed to be introduced a year ago and that at the request of the University of Belgrade, its implementation was postponed for a year, in order to allow additional time for institutions to prepare for the new way of functioning.
It was stated at the meeting that 2,500 users use this system and that there are no obstacles to its implementation when it comes to higher education institutions.
At the meeting, which was also attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Saša Stevanović and Assistant Minister of Education for Higher Education Aleksandar Jović, PhD, answers were given to questions from representatives of higher education institutions and it was emphasized that all competent institutions are ready to answer any additional open questions at any time.
It was also agreed to continue work within the faculty group for monitoring IT implementation, as well as the next meeting, which will be attended by the vice-deans for finance and heads of financial services of the faculties.
