Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today in talks with a delegation of the Porsche company that Serbia is open to foreign investment and the Serbian government is doing everything possible to attract further foreign investments.
Kostunica said on the occasion that progress during the past few years in improving the business climate in Serbia has been made mainly owing to the extraordinary achievements of the Serbian government and parliament in changing and implementing regulations.
The Serbian Prime Minister said during the meeting with the Porsche company delegation headed up by owners Wolfgang Porsche, Oliver Porsche, Michel Piëch and Josef Ahorner that the economic results achieved have been recognised by international financial institutions.
Representatives of Porsche informed the Prime Minister on the investments made by the company in Serbia thus far and their plans for the future. One sales and service centre is already in operation and the delegation announced the construction of two new such centres, with which the investment made by Porsche will reach €30 million and create some 200 new jobs.
The meeting was also attended by Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo.
