Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić met today in Brussels with Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle, on the sidelines of the second International Conference of the Global Alliance to Counter Migrant Smuggling, to discuss plans for continued cooperation.

The meeting focused in particular on cooperation in combating serious and organised crime, migrant smuggling and the fight against terrorism, which is already at a very high level.
Dačić praised the results achieved by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with Europol in joint operations, and highlighted the importance of the support that this organisation provides to Serbia through various projects.
De Bolle stressed that Serbia is a key partner of Europol in the Western Balkans, noting that the mutual exchange of experiences and the dissemination of knowledge represent an important step in the continuation of constructive international police cooperation.
The interlocutors agreed that the joint efforts of Serbia and Europol are of exceptional importance in the fight against international organised crime and terrorism, which will contribute to a more effective response to modern security challenges, with the aim of preserving security in the region and Europe.
