Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met in Washington D.C., during his stay in the United States, with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
Đurić, thanking for the opportunity for the talks, expressed his satisfaction that he shares the same enthusiasm with Deputy Secretary of State Landau regarding relations between Serbia and the United States.
The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasised that Serbia attaches special importance to the development of a strategic partnership and overall relations with the United States, which is among Serbia’s key foreign policy partners.
He sad that direct meetings with senior American officials are important for a regular and substantive exchange of views.
The discussion also focused on preserving Serbia’s energy security and the functioning of Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS).
All aspects of the current situation in the energy sector in the Republic of Serbia were also discussed, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
