Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić began his three-day visit to the United States with a meeting with a member of Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives Keith Self, with whom he discussed issues important for cooperation between the two countries.

The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed satisfaction with the fact that the good dynamics of talks with representatives of the US Congress had been maintained in the previous period, assessing that this was a very important part of the political dialogue with this important US legislative body.
When it came to Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić spoke about the extremely difficult position of the Serbs and the increasingly frequent unilateral actions of Priština, underlining the necessity to ensure the fundamental rights and security of the Serbian people.
In the part of the conversation that related to regional topics, he emphasised that Serbia will continue to be a factor of stability in the region and that it advocates dialogue and the resolution of all outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also addressed the current geopolitical situation and Serbia’s position in that context, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
