Serbian delegation to attend meeting of WHO regional office for Europe

Belgrade, 11 September 2006

The Serbian Ministry of Health stated that Minister Tomica Milosavljevic and Assistant Minister for Planning and Development of Health System Snezana Simic will represent Serbia at the 56th meeting of World Health Organisation's (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, which will be held from September 11 to 14 in Copenhagen.

At the meeting, the delegations of 53 European states will talk about the European strategy for prevention and control of massive non-contagious diseases, programme budget for 2008/2009, and about a middle-term strategic plan of WHO European region from 2008 to 2013.

This strategy includes measures and activities for prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases, malign diseases, chronic obstructive lung diseases, diabetes, mental health disorders and chronic diseases of the osteomuscular system.
