Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, said today, at the opening of the Euronews Adria Summit in Belgrade, that full membership in the European Union and preservation of state and national interests are clear state goals.
Macut emphasised that this primarily means fighting to preserve Kosovo and Metohija within Serbia, which entails seeking allies around the world.
In this sense, as the Prime Minister stated, Serbia cannot give up on traditional friendships with the countries of the non-aligned bloc, which are on the rise and with which there are so many ways to expand cooperation.
Our job is to provide our economy with new markets, and therefore my goal as Prime Minister is to dedicate myself to further improving relations with countries with which we cherish traditional friendship, said Macut, underlining Serbia’s enormous potential in the IT sector, high technologies, specialised industries and other important branches of the economy.
The Prime Minister also pointed to the incredible economic rise of Africa, noting that this continent also has the youngest population, and that the future rests precisely on youth, while Central and Southeast Asia is today the centre of high technologies without which the modern world is unthinkable.
The Prime Minister said that it is certainly necessary to continue advancing relations with the United States of America, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, which are already at a high level.
