First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali stated today that, thanks to the state programme of subsidising housing loans for the purchase of first homes for young people under the age of 35, approximately 5,000 young people have resolved their housing issues.

In a televised interview with Televizija Pink, Mali pointed out the exceptional success of this programme, adding that a decision will be made within the next ten days to expand the guarantee scheme by an additional €200 million, to ensure that all applications are covered in the coming year.
He explained that 3,755 young people have completed the entire procedure, while the approval process is ongoing for approximately 1,100 applicants.
The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that the average loan amount taken out so far is €80,000, which means that young people have signed contracts with approximately €800 in down payments.
This is a great success of the scheme for which we have allocated €400 million, and now we will further expand it, said Mali.
