Strong protest over continued arming of Priština, violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244

The Ministry of Defence announced that, regarding the continued arming of the so-called “Kosovo Security Forces”, this time with Turkish SKYDAGGER RTF 15 drones, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović had an urgent telephone conversation with Commander of KFOR Major General Özkan Ulutaş.

In a conversation with the KFOR Commander, a general of the Turkish Armed Forces, who began his second term as head of the International Security Forces in Kosovo and Metohija a few days ago, General Mojsilović expressed a strong protest over the continued arming of the so-called “Kosovo Security Forces” and the brutal violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement.

The Chief of General Staff pointed out that such moves represent a very bad signal and threaten not only the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, but also in the entire Western Balkan region.

General Mojsilović reiterated that, in accordance with international law, UN resolutions and all other signed agreements, the Republic of Serbia sees KFOR as the only legitimate armed formation in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and once again requested that international forces consistently and impartially implement their mandate and provide a safe environment, as well as freedom of movement for everyone, primarily for the Serb community in our southern province, the statement said.
