Macut said that family businesses are not just a number in economic reports, but represent a tradition, unity and responsibility that is passed down from generation to generation.
In 2025, through a programme implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and the Development Fund, we have allocated RSD 400 million in grants and RSD 500 million in loan support for family businesses, the Prime Minister said.
He added that these funds are not just figures in the budget, but tangible means in the hands, new equipment, modernised machinery, vehicles, energy plants, reconstructed premises, software, tools, craft workshops and small factories.
The loan support programme for young people has provided what was most important to all of us at the beginning – security and support. This time it was provided through state funding, with a total of RSD 1 billion allocated under exceptionally favourable conditions, a low interest rate and a long grace period. From the first day, interest exceeded all expectations, said Macut.
The Prime Minister explained that applications came from all over Serbia and that more than 300 young and family companies applied.
Through all this, we want to show that the state stands by you, not only financially, but also symbolically, because in times of uncertainty, every business that continues and every family that stands behind it is actually a sign of stability and a pillar of this society, this state, and a sign of hope, he emphasised.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to all those who believe in Serbia, who invest in their people and show by example that success is not measured only by profit, but also by what is left to future generations.
Mesarović emphasised that the Ministry has recognised the importance of family businesses as a pillar of stability and innovation in the Serbian economy.
She added that interest in these programmes was great and that more than 300 family companies applied, from Belgrade to Novi Sad, Kraljevo, Niš, Vranje, Bajina Bašta, Arilje, Jagodina and Leskovac.
This shows that the support is evenly distributed and that both small and large companies have seen this call as an opportunity to improve their operations, Mesarović said, also pointing out that more than 150 family businesses have been supported so far.
