The Serbian government's official web site gives the Prime Minister's statement in full.
"Ethnic-Albanian separatists reacted to Ahtisaari's statement by throwing a bomb at innocent civilians in Kosovska Mitrovica.
Ethnic-Albanian terrorists and international community representatives are equally responsible for this crime, since the international community, with its actions or inactions, incessantly encourages the separatists to such behaviour.
Ahtisaari was given the mandate in order to enable the negotiations and reach a compromise and a historically just solution, founded upon international law, but he seems to have set his mind on doing exactly the opposite. On several occasions, more or less openly, Ahtisaari has made it public that compromise and negotiations are irrelevant because a solution already exists that only needs to be implemented, and that is an independent Kosovo.
For such a solution, which directly conflicts with the fundamental principles of international law, Ahtisaari has now offered an explanation: Serbs as a people are to blame. Thus, Ahtisaari has become one of the advocates of the darkest viewpoint in the history of mankind, namely the collective responsibility of a nation. Ahtisaari not only breached his mandate, but is now in conflict with international law, democratic values and historical facts.
In the course of history, we have already seen that a dangerous precedent, such as the one Ahtisaari encourages, cannot remain a single, isolated and unrepeatable case. That which endangers Serbia today might soon endanger other countries and the entire world. This is why the international democratic public should respond to these alarming ideas properly and with dignity", reads the Serbian Prime Minister's statement.
