We are also surprised by the response that the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia sent to certain media outlets regarding the participation of Serbian representatives in the Bled Strategic Forum, thus contributing to the spread of malicious disinformation.
We believe that this approach sends a message that is not in line with the partnership and friendly relations that our two countries are building, while at the same time giving the impression of attempts to indirectly interfere in the internal political debate in Serbia, which is certainly not desirable.
At the aforementioned event, the Republic of Serbia was represented at a high level, with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić. Any attempt to diminish, relativise or present the participation of the Republic of Serbia in this regional gathering in a manner that does not correspond to the facts casts a shadow on the credibility of the Forum itself.
We particularly emphasise that the claims that the President of the Republic of Serbia requested to participate in the Forum are incorrect and inappropriate. Such insinuations are aimed at distorting the facts and damaging the reputation of the institution of the President.
We rightly expect that the fact that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia actively participated in the work of the Forum be respected, as part of his numerous diplomatic and intensive foreign policy activities, which confirm the importance and reputation of the Republic of Serbia in international relations.
Serbia will continue to contribute to regional and good-neighbourly cooperation, but clearly states that it does not accept interference in its internal political decisions, nor the relativisation of the role of its representatives at international and regional gatherings.
