Additional budget funds for war crimes prosecution

Serbian Ministry of Finance stated today that it has accepted the suggestion of the prosecutor's office for war crimes to approve additional funds for its work in order to secure a more efficient implementation of the Action plan.
The statement says that Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic and war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic, who is also operational coordinator for implementation of the Action plan, reached an agreement during a meeting to set aside 46.5 million dinars from the budget for this purpose.
The funds will be used for the introduction of a special protected Internet network for access to the database of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and for the wages of 2 deputy and 3 assistant prosecutors, who have been recently employed in the prosecutor's office.
At the meeting it was agreed that the efficient work of the prosecutor's office is a national priority, because of which the government will continue to offer all necessary financial support to this institution, the statement reads.
