At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decree on the Establishment of the General Flood Protection Plan, which enables the continuation of organised flood protection on the territory of Serbia in accordance with the Law on Waters and other regulations, and also regulates the organisational structure of flood protection, with appointed entities and management hierarchy.

At the same session, the government adopted the Decree on Harmonisation of the Customs Tariff Nomenclature for 2025, aligning the national customs tariff with the Combined Nomenclature of the European Union and relevant international agreements.
The Decree also covers preferential customs rates and import quotas, including provisions of the Free Trade Agreement with the Arab Republic of Egypt, which enters into force on 1 September 2025.
The government also adopted the Conclusion on the Adoption of Amendments to the National Programme for the Adoption of the Acquis of the European Union (NPAA) for the period 2024-2027, aligning the programme with the timeline set out in the plan for fulfilling the most important obligations in Serbia’s EU accession negotiations by the end of 2026.
In addition, the cabinet adopted the Conclusion on the Adoption of the Financial Support Programme for the Implementation of Gender Equality Policies for Local Self-Government Units in 2025, given that systemic support for the implementation of gender equality policy is one of the government’s core objectives.
The programme aims to strengthen the institutional and organisational capacities of local governments to plan, fund and implement gender equality policies and programmes; to reduce the risks and consequences of violence against women through improved prevention, protection and support systems for victims at the local level; and to enhance the political and public representation of women at the local level through support for active participation in decision-making processes, capacity-building for leadership and the establishment of support networks.
