Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader opened today a modernised border crossing Batrovci-Bajakovo, in whose construction the European Union has invested €10 million.

Kostunica said that the opening of the crossing will not only enable a faster flow of vehicles along the Corridor 10, but it also has a symbolical meaning - it points to the approximation of two states and two peoples after difficult events from the past.
Underlining that both Serbia and Croatia want to join the European family of nations, the Serbian Prime Minister said that the two countries are also linked by faith that disputes have to be solved in the first place by patience and mutual trust.
Sanader said that this will not be a crossing that will speak about the past, but about the future of Croatia and Serbia in a new Europe, based on prosperity and equality of all countries.
Reconstruction of the border crossing lasted 15 months and now it contains 16 lanes in both directions, which is two times more than before.
