Dačić emphasised that Botswana’s principled position on the issue of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its support in international organisations, is of great importance for Serbia, recalling that the country voted against the admission of “Kosovo” to UNESCO and INTERPOL.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Serbia is interested in a strategic partnership with Botswana in the areas of agriculture, information technology, tourism, as well as in the areas of migration and administrative affairs under the remit of the Ministry of the Interior.
Dačić emphasised that Botswana, one of the five wealthiest countries in Africa with a high rate of economic growth, wishes for its citizens to receive education and training in Serbia.
Mokgware, who is on an official visit to Serbia, stated that Botswana views Serbia as an important partner with whom the new government seeks to strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
According to him, during today’s meeting, it was assessed that there is room for intensifying economic and business cooperation between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the field of technology development, bearing in mind that Botswana is one of the most stable economies in Africa.
He underlined that the Serbian Ministry of the Interior could provide significant support to Botswana’s line ministry in enhancing digitalisation and improving systems for the protection of personal documents against misuse.
