In his opening remarks, Macut said that the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia obliges respect for democratic principles in the process of making decisions that are important for the majority population, as well as for members of minorities.
The Constitution also obliges to an open and inclusive dialogue, taking into account all specificities, as well as the responsibility of participants in creating policies, including the policy of cultural autonomy, and above all, creating conditions so that, once adopted, policies can be implemented, the Prime Minister emphasised.
Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Demo Beriša pointed out the activities of the line ministry that are being undertaken and planned in the coming period in the field of improving the position and rights of members of minority communities.
The RSD 25 million Draft Programme for the Allocation of Funds from the Budget Fund for National Minorities in 2025 was adopted at the session of the Council.
According to the Draft Programme for the Allocation of Funds, it is envisaged that culture is the priority area for financing programmes and projects for national minorities this year.
The session was attended by Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina, Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić, representatives of state departments and representatives of national councils of national minorities.
