Đurić stated that citizens of 46 countries worldwide are now able to apply for a Serbian visa through an online portal, without having to visit a diplomatic or consular office.
According to him, this will contribute to a more efficient international representation of Serbia and the promotion of its tourism potential, particularly in light of the upcoming Expo 2027.
Jovanović explained that applications for the e-visa, i.e. the type C visa, are submitted online via the portal welcometoserbia.gov.rs, where basic passport data are entered, a photo is scanned and uploaded, and the travel plan is provided.
He noted that once the Republic of Serbia makes its decision, the e-visa is generated in PDF format, a notification is sent via email to the applicant, and the applicant can then access and download their electronic visa through the portal.
When the foreign national arrives, an electronic check is performed at the border and upon scanning the passport, it is automatically confirmed that an electronic visa has been issued, said the Director of the Office.
He emphasised that the advantage of this service is that the process is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and anyone can apply for Serbia’s electronic visa from anywhere in the world.
