Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić met today with UK Ambassador to Serbia Edward Ferguson, with whom he discussed relevant issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, also attended by Professor of Public International Law at the University of Oxford Dapo Akande, the UK’s support for the rule of law in Serbia was discussed, as well as the state and reform of the domestic judiciary, and activities that would be useful for improving the capacity of judges and public prosecutors in Serbia.
On this occasion, Vujić emphasised the commitment of the Ministry of Justice to fulfilling its obligations within the framework of the European integration process, especially in the context of Chapter 23, for which the Ministry of Justice is the main coordinator.
In this regard, the Minister of Justice briefed Ambassador Ferguson and Professor Akande on the planned changes to the regulatory framework in accordance with the Revised Action Plan for Chapter 23, the Judicial Development Strategy for the period 2020-2025, as well as the Reform Agenda accompanying the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
