Kostunica said that the solution for Kosovo must be sought through a compromise of both sides and it must not be imposed, because then it would not be a solution at all.
The Prime Minister said that it is not good to impose time limits for bringing a decision on Kosovo's final status, adding that it must be bourn in mind that the solution for Kosovo-Metohija must be lasting and sustainable.
He said that Serbia is ready to give Kosovo substantial autonomy within its national borders and highlighted that such a solution would be sustainable and just, and would entail a compromise.
Kostunica underlined that preservation of peace and stability in the region must be taken into account when seeking a solution for Kosovo.
Pointing to the importance of cooperation with all religious communities, the Serbian Prime Minister said that Serbia makes a point of preserving multi-ethnicity in the country and building trust among different religious communities.
The meeting at the Serbian government was attended by representatives of Turkey, Albania, Morocco, Malaysia, Guinea, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Palestine, Syria, Indonesia, Libya, Pakistan and Tunisia.
