Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, attended today a working meeting of the Coordination Body for Monitoring Integrated Development Projects in Serbia, implemented under the Serbia Works platform.
Macut emphasised that integrated development essentially means the development of municipalities and districts across Serbia, aiming to jointly identify, develop and implement projects that directly highlight the strengths of a particular region in areas such as tourism, the environment, infrastructure, culture, science, agriculture and others.
The Prime Minister stressed that attending this meeting is an important opportunity for further cooperation and exchange of experiences in order to improve the implementation of key projects that contribute to the country’s development, with a particular focus on eastern Serbia, as has previously been the case with other parts of the country.
The meeting addressed the goals of the Serbia Works platform, which aims to improve the efficiency, transparency and sustainability of projects at both national and local levels.
The importance of cooperation between different sectors and levels of government was also highlighted, in order to ensure successful development and equitable resource distribution.
The working meeting of the Coordination Body, chaired by the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Miloš Anđić, is one in a series of steps toward strengthening institutional cooperation and coordination among all relevant institutions involved in Serbia’s integrated development.
