Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Goran Zivkov will lead a delegation on a visit to Italy that will last until July 6. The delegation will include representatives of the Ministry, the provincial secretariat for agriculture, and advisory services, as well as farmers and directors of vegetable cooperatives.
During the visit, the delegation will meet with officials of the Italian ministry of agriculture, representatives of Italian cooperatives and associations of traders and agricultural producers. They will learn about different ways of selling fruit and vegetables through distribution centres, supermarkets and cooperatives.
Apart from education, the aim of this visit is to establish trading relations between Italian and Serbian fruit and vegetable cooperatives, and to improve the already existing cooperation.
The host of the visit is the Mediterranean Institute in Bari with which the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has established cooperation through implementation of several joint projects that deal with the improvement of integral and organic production of fruit and vegetables.
