Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Serbia Edward Ferguson about bilateral cooperation.
Macut stressed that relations between the two countries are good and well-developed, and that there are opportunities for further improving cooperation in numerous areas of mutual interest and for strengthening the partnership.
The Prime Minister emphasised that steps that would lead to the opening of a dialogue regarding visa liberalisation would be significant for the citizens of Serbia.
The officials also discussed the situation in the region and assessed that efforts should be made to advance the Open Balkans initiative, as the success of this project will determine how well the member countries of the initiative can secure their economic future and strengthen peace and stability in the region.
Ferguson wished the Prime Minister much success in the work of the new Serbian government, highlighting that Serbia is a very important country in the region and that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is open to new ideas and proposals for improving relations with Serbia.
