Citizen safety, preservation of peace, stability – priority tasks for security sector

The Ministry of the Interior stated that at today’s session of the Bureau for the Coordination of Security Services’ Work, it was concluded that ensuring the safety of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and preserving peace and stability in the country are priority tasks for the security sector.

At the session of the Bureau for the Coordination of Security Services’ Work, chaired by Secretary of the National Security Council Ivica Dačić, the current security situation in the country and the region was discussed, along with current foreign policy developments and their implications for events in the Republic of Serbia.

It was concluded that the security situation in the country remains stable, despite ongoing internal and external provocations, pressures and numerous challenges.

It was noted that the security sector, along with all other state bodies of the Republic of Serbia, will undertake, within their competencies and powers, all necessary measures and actions to maintain public order and peace, ensure the uninterrupted functioning of state institutions and public services, and protect the constitutional order and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the safety and normal functioning of everyday life and work for its citizens.
