Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today met with Italian Ambassador to Serbia Luca Gori to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations, with a focus on the economy, investment and tourism.
In a cordial and constructive meeting, the two officials also explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in science, education and culture.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Italy is an important partner for Serbia when it comes to investments, but that there is still room for new investments.
According to him, direct cooperation between Serbian and Italian businesspeople is of great importance in terms of new investments in both markets, and the friendly relations between the two countries confirm historical continuity, which is a guarantee for the future.
Prime Minister Macut expressed his expectation that further Italian investments will be realised in Serbia in the coming period, supported by the robust potential and exceptional political and strategic ties between Serbia and Italy.
Ambassador Gori pointed to the long tradition of friendly and partnership-based relations between the two countries, which serves as a solid foundation for further support for Serbia on its path to European integration.
He agreed with the Prime Minister on the importance of historical ties and noted the current dynamic dialogue between the two countries, particularly in economic, scientific, commercial and cultural cooperation, as well as in other areas.
